Privacy policy

Your shows never leave your computer, and we do not know what you play or when you play it.

CueMonkey holds three things about you: who you signed in as, which Macs you signed in on, and when. There is no analytics in it, no crash reporting to us, no advertising, and no third party watching you use it. The whole of what it sends anywhere is set out below, and you can delete all of it yourself in one place.

This policy is published by Groovy Milk LLC, a limited liability company formed in the State of Maryland, United States, which is the party responsible for the information described here.

Who you are. When you sign in with Google or with Apple, they tell us your name, your email address and, if you have one, the address of your profile picture. We never see or hold a password, and we never ask for one.

Which Macs. Each Mac you sign in on is recorded as a short code, the date it was first seen and the date it was last seen. That code is a one way hash, produced on your own Mac, of an identifier macOS gives to the machine. It is not the serial number of your computer, and it cannot be turned back into one. It exists so that a licence works on the machines you use and not on a hundred others.

Your plan. Which plan your account is on, whether it is active, and how many Macs it may hold a licence on.

The website. Requests to cuemonkey.app are logged by the service that serves it, in the ordinary way, including the address they came from. Those logs are kept briefly and used to keep the site working and secure. We do not set advertising cookies and we do not run an analytics service on it.

Your running orders, your audio, your video, your images and your show files. Anything about what you played, when, for how long, or how often. Anything about the other software on your Mac. The contents of any folder. Your location.

CueMonkey reaches the network in exactly three places: to exchange a sign in for a licence, to ask whether there is a newer version of itself, and to open a page in your own browser when you press a button that says it will. It does nothing else over the network at any time, including while a show is running.

To issue you a licence and to know it is yours. To keep the limit on how many Macs one account may hold a licence on, and to show you that list so you can prune it yourself. To answer you when you write to us. To tell you something important about the software, which we do rarely and never as marketing you did not ask for.

We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.

Supabase hosts the database and the small functions that issue licences, on servers in the United States.

Google or Apple, whichever you choose to sign in with, and only because you chose it. Their own privacy policies cover what they do with that.

GitHub serves the installer and the update packages when you download them.

Nobody else, except where we are required by law to disclose something, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or somebody's safety.

Your account and its list of Macs are kept while your account exists. Delete your account and they go with it, immediately and permanently. A Mac you remove from the list is removed immediately.

One time sign in codes expire after five minutes and are swept away. Website request logs are kept briefly by the service that serves the site.

Deleting your account is a button, not a request you have to make to us.

It is at the bottom of your account page. It deletes the identity, the account and the list of Macs. Nothing about you is kept afterwards.

You can also see everything we hold about you on that same page, remove any Mac from the list, and sign out everywhere by deleting the account. If you would rather we did any of this for you, or if you want a copy of what we hold, write to us and we will do it.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know what we hold, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to a copy of it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of them. That includes residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and other states with similar laws. We will not charge you or treat you differently for asking. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross context behavioural advertising, as those terms are used in those laws.

CueMonkey is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has made an account, write to us and we will delete it.

On servers in the United States. If you use CueMonkey from outside the United States, you are sending what is described above to be handled there.

Everything travels over an encrypted connection. The database refuses, by default, to show any row to anybody, and the few rules that allow anything only ever let an account see and delete its own rows. Licences are signed, and the app checks that signature on your own machine with a key that can only verify and never issue.

No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.

We may change this policy. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and if the change is significant we will say so in the app or by email before it takes effect.
