For a show
One night: a gala, a conference, a stop on a tour
—one day
- Everything in Pro, midnight to midnight
- Main Mac and a standby
- Counts towards owning it
Solo is free with an account and runs a whole show: every kind of cue, every fade, as many cues as it needs. Pro adds layers, acts and screens, a locked copy to hand a show over, and a second Mac standing by.

A show is a show. Anything built on Pro opens on Solo, plays on Solo and can be edited on Solo, every layer and every act of it. Nothing in a show file is locked to a plan. Limits only stop a show growing with the "+", and a licence never stops a show.
No subscription. Rent it for a day or a week and it simply ends, or own it with one payment.

Nothing renews and your card is not kept on file. A day and a week end on their own, and every rented day that has ended comes off the price of owning it. Sales tax or VAT, where it is owed, is shown before you pay.
Nothing. Any show, made on any Mac by anybody, opens, plays and can be changed on Solo, every layer and every act of it. A four layer show opened on Solo is four layers, and stays four layers when you save it.
What Solo stops is growing a show past its own size with the "+": a second layer, a second act, a second screen for the audience, a second saved venue. The console says so at the "+" and nowhere else.
No. A licence never stops a show. A rental that ends in the middle of a performance stops nothing: every cue in the running order still fires, to the end of the evening and after it.
When a rental ends, what stops is adding the things it paid for: another layer, another act, another screen for the audience. Your shows and your files are untouched.
A rental is whole calendar days, midnight to midnight in your own time zone. A day bought for today runs until midnight tonight. A week is seven calendar days in a row, ending at midnight on the seventh.
You choose the day it starts, today or any day up to 60 days ahead, so a week can be bought on the Monday for the get in on Friday.
A rental bought ahead switches itself on when its day comes, with no internet that day. The Mac needs to have been online once after you bought it, so it knows the rental is there: open CueMonkey on it with a connection any time before the day.
Solo is one Mac at a time, and you move it yourself, at once, from the sign-in window or from your account page.
Pro is two Macs on one licence: the one running the show, and a standby that follows every GO and takes over with one press.
Pro for good, with every 1.x update. Nothing renews and nothing is kept on file.
Every day you have rented that has ended comes off the price of owning it, so a season of renting is already on its way to owning.
A rental that has started is not refunded: by then the days are being used. A rental bought for a later day is refunded in full if you write to us before that day comes.
Owning it can be refunded within 14 days of buying. Write to us, and once the money is back the account goes back to Solo.
We give Pro to schools, colleges and charities. Tell us who you are and what it is for, with the form below, and a person reads it. There is no code to find and nothing to prove up front.
Solo's limits begin on the day Pro goes on sale. Until then everything stays as it is. After it, every show you have made still opens, plays and can be changed whole; only adding a second layer, act, screen or venue asks for Pro.
No. A day and a week end on their own and nothing renews. Owning it is one payment. Your card is not kept on file.
Sales tax or VAT, where it is owed, is worked out from the country you bill to and shown before you pay.
